Carmen Wang

Chemistry PhD Student, Lyons Lab

College of Staten Island - Expected Graduation: 2028

Objective

Looking for summer research opportunities for 2026 in the field of material science and surface development for sustainable materials. Open to learning more about companies that work in sustainability and development of materials surfaces and others.

Bio

As a member of Lyons's lab, I’m interested in fabricating and analyzing superhydrophobic polymeric materials. My research is centered on developing coatings with anti-reflective, anti-soiling, and self-cleaning properties to improve the efficiency of solar panels by preventing dust and other particles from adhering to their surfaces. I’m particularly interested in how these coatings can enhance performance and longevity. Outside the lab, I love baking and immersing myself in the world of comic books.
